This is part of a 9 metre long mural in Pontypool, sponsored by artREGEN. The mural is based around the proud iron and steel industry that Pontypool was famous for.

I love painting dragons, and I hope that it shows with this fearsum beastie.
This is all painted with rattle cans and I got totally lost in adding all the gnarly details.

The whole design will be completed tomorrow. The light is dreadful down there, but I'll endeavour to get a good shot of the whole thing.

I've loved painting this in the middle of town. Everyone and their dog has stopped to chat and say some kind words. Everyone has made me feel very welcomed.

I was away in Sardinia when some racist, knuckle dragging, flag shagging, muppet decided to deface my mural.
I had a free day and some nice weather this week so managed to get it fixed and protected.
For those who don't know, it's a scene of the Ortakoy mosque on the river in Istanbul.
No, it's not the Severn Bridge.

The finished version of this mural was pretty dark and gave the feeling of beingb surrounded by trees.
I really liked this beginning stage too though, where it was all loose and airy underpainting.

It really is a great time to be racist.

This was a beautiful picture on a fantastic shop. Not just mindless vandalism, but a hateful attack by absolute morons. There are so many people fuelled by hate at the minute who feel that it's acceptable to act like this.

Here's a little snippet of my finished owl and some of the other things going on The Fork and Tune at the time I was finishing my piece.
Great event organised by Valleys Street Art Project

This mural was a labour of love. I wanted to paint him for months now, but kept redesigning him. I've drawn it and coloured it half a dozen times and then worked on colour schemes and techniques in my studio to get the look I wanted, (for example there are 4 types of metallic paint making up the moon) and tbh I'm only about 2/3 of the way there.

I do think he's a belter though. I can't stop looking at him. It makes me want to drive back up to The Fork & Tune and steal him back 😉
But they seem to love him, so he has a good home now and luckily they're a lovely bunch.

This is what I want to do - paint amazing things that I love. It's too easy to end up rushing the work (time, budgets etc) and ending up dissatisfied with a half-arsed job.

So if anyone fancies anything amazing, then let me know.

A great day yesterday The Fork and Tune (cracking venue) with loads of other artists.
The highlight for me was watching this brilliant young artist copying my owl as I painted it. She is only 8 but had amazing observational skills and use of colour. What a star ⭐✨. She was there all day with her lovely and creative family.
I think we can expect wonderful things from her in the future (and from her brother too!)

I finished this bedroom mural earlier this week, and the client has now removed all the masking tape and protection and started to dress the room.
She had a great eye and there's some lovely furniture going in this week.
It's nice to be playing a part in her grand design.
